POW Nordic Summit

POW NORDIC SUMMIT 2025
PYHÄ 31.1 – 2.2.2025

The second POW Nordic Summit will be held this winter in Finnish Lapland at Pyhätunturi, where POWs from the Nordic countries will unite their strength, knowledge, and community for winters and the places we love!

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The POW Nordic Summit is an event open to all POW members, ambassadors and volunteers. To participate, you don’t have to be an active POW yet, but we hope you will find enthusiasm to make an impact and learn new things. The event also offers new perspectives and tools for those who have worked at POW for a longer period of time for their own climate path. The main language of the event is English.

As a POW member, you are entitled to register for the event. Join now!

ARRIVAL TO PYHÄ

We encourage everyone to choose the lowest possible way to travel to Pyhä. The weekend’s official program starts at Pyhä on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. and ends on Sunday at around 5:00 p.m. The program of the event is planned in such a way that the arrival by land from Sweden, Norway, and Finland is as smooth as possible.

The most comfortable way to travel to the POW Nordic Summit is to first take the train to either Rovaniemi or Kemijärvi, from where the journey will take you directly to Pyhä, the core location of the event, by bus.

When you register, you can join the event’s WhatsApp group, where you can ask for tips, carpools, and travel companions from other participants in the event and the POW team in advance.

PROGRAM

Listening to the wishes of our community, the POW Nordic Summit 2025 program will be structured around the HOW-TO-POW theme this year. In the two-day program, we will dive deeper into what influence opportunities and places we have and how we can protect winter even more effectively in our own everyday life, but also as part of the community.

Weekend topics: The importance of being vocal / What is political influence and how is it done? / Companies on the right side of climate action. / Activist, winter savior or climate agent? / Through “Pos”: is change happening and where and by whom is it happening? / The winter community joining their forces: what can ski resorts and POW do together?

FRIDAY: Welcome to Pyhä – land on Friday in the middle of the most beautiful winter and breathe. We want to make sure that everyone can join the program starting on Saturday rested – so get settled in and get to know the other POWians and your roommates.

SATURDAY: On Saturday, we share thoughts and experiences and hear interesting speeches – without forgetting fun and love for winter. Jump on the slopes in the morning, take part in campfire discussions between descents and learn from the top experts in climate influence. In the evening we celebrate POW Finland’s 10 years in the meter.

SUNDAY: On Sunday, after morning skiing or skiing, we unleash our community’s ideas in HOW-to-POW workshops, where we look for answers to tough questions about climate influence and the most promising ways and tools – how do we do science-based influence at different levels of the winter community? POW Nordic Summit 2025 ends, but the journey to a more sustainable society begins. At the end of the weekend, we make sure that the ideas and thoughts created during the event are further refined and put into practice!

REGISTER FOR THE EVENT

Join the weekend-long POW Nordic Summit and discover even more effective ways to save winters and meet new and old POW members, volunteers, activists and ambassadors.

HOW DOES THIS EVENT HELP PROTECT THE WINTERS?
We strive to make changes at every stage of the event: among other things, we want to inspire and motivate participants to travel to the venue more sustainably along surfaces, for example by train or with the help of carpooling, for example. We will inform participants about this closer to the event.

Through the event itself, POW aims to develop a joint Nordic strategy so that we can do even more effective climate work together in the future. We believe that change is really made together!

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY PARTICIPATION?
If you have to cancel your participation for some reason, you can transfer your ticket to another. The participation fee is not refunded in this case. In case of cancellation of participation, please contact: info@protectourwinters.fi
